Legendary Japanese rock band GLAY released their latest single ”whodunit” featuring JAY from K-pop group ENHYPEN!

The single continues GLAY’s much-anticipated 30th-anniversary activities. The celebrated Japanese rockers, who stand as one of the nation's best-selling artists of all time, continue to push themselves creatively via a collaboration with JAY, a member of the globally popular K-pop group ENHYPEN. 

For the song’s vocal recording, GLAY members TERU and TAKURO traveled to South Korea to work directly with JAY. At TAKURO's request, JAY also penned the lyrics for his vocal section.

JAY also appears in the music video for “whodunit,”. Filmed entirely in South Korea, it captures an intense "vocalist clash" between TERU and JAY, as imagined by TAKURO. 

It also includes CG scenes inspired by the 30th-anniversary key visuals created by Eiichiro Oda, the esteemed creator of "ONE PIECE.”

Guitarist SAKI leaves Metal band NEMOPHILA!

In an announcement on the bands Website & Social media: nemophila.tokyo

"Important Announcement to Everyone

Thank you for always supporting NEMOPHILA.
We are sorry to inform that the band’s guitarist, SAKI, will be leaving the band due to differences in direction. We apologize sincerely for this sudden announcement to all our fans and staff who have supported us.

For almost five years since the band formed, the five members have walked the same path as NEMOPHILA. However, when we considered the future of the band and the happiness of each member, we have come to the conclusion that it is best for us to part ways at this time.

From now on, the band members will be mayu (Vo.), Hazuki (Gt.), Haraguchi-san (Ba.), Tamu Murata (Dr.). SAKI will continue her career as a solo guitarist.

Each of us will be taking different paths, but we would like to express our sincere gratitude for the love you have shown to the music of the band thus far. We hope that you will continue to support us with unwavering love, the music by our new four-member lineup and music created by SAKI, as we move forward."

For a number of countries X Japan had only a limited amount of albums and singles available. It's great to now be able to have access to such a wonderful back catalog of great music from the band.

DEVILOOF guitarist AISAKU leaves the band

In a statement on the bands website and posted across their Social Media:

"Important Notice: 2024/09/15 (Sun)

Thank you for your continued support of DEVILOOF.

As of August 31st, AiSaku has left the band.

We are very sorry for this sudden announcement to all the fans who support DEVILOOF and all those involved.

The reason for this decision is differences in the direction we should take and differences in how we think about the band.

Although each of them will be walking different paths, we ask for your continued support for AiSaku and DEVILOOF in the future.

Regarding the future structure of DEVILOOF, we will continue as a four-person group."

The visual kei rock band formed in Tokyo 2006. Their singles "Yokan" & "Loop", were used as ending theme songs to Kaichou wa Maid-sama! Anime!

Exploring Tokyo's Hidden Underground Music Scene with Tokidoki Traveller!

Australian content creator & YouTuber, Tokidoki Traveller, (Emma @tokidokitraveller) created a great insight into the Underground Music Scene in her video with a friend from “Gigs In Tokyo” (@gigsintokyo), for those of us visiting Tokyo that may want to take in something different to the usual tourist spots!

In the video, Emma gives great tips on how to book a show, what to take with you, and the rules once at a venue. Along with seeing some great bands!
