Heavier-Than-Hell Band Preps Covers EP For Early November

Japanese heavy metal band NEMOPHILA will pay respect to the legends of the Metal scene with their forthcoming covers EP The Initial Impulse out this November. 

The quintet tackles songs by Slipknot, System of a Down and Limp Bizkit…and today they share the first preview of the set with their high-octane take on Metallica’s “Master Of Puppets,” out now on all streaming services.

This cover allows the band a chance for the quintet to show their appreciation for one of the groups inspiring NEMOPHILA’s heavier-than-hell take on rock, whe also the perfect backdrop to display their musical chops. 

NEMOPHILA challenge the whole eight-plus minutes of the full-throttle song, showcasing their ability to capture it in all its headbanging glory while injecting the flavor that has made them among the most exciting Japan-based outfits in the world into the beloved cut.

NEMOPHILA’s The Initial Impulse, finds the Japanese five-piece group’s takes on classics from System Of A Down, Slipknot and Limp Bizkit alongside their thundering Metallica take. 

Out on November 8, 2023, it’s a chance for one of the fastest-rising Japanese metal outfits going to showcase their influences while highlighting their own unique approach to heavy rock sounds.

The EP arrives at a time where NEMOPHILA are prepping for a nationwide tour of Japan, building up to their first ever concert at Tokyo’s historic Nippon Budokan…a venue where many of their metal legends have played in decades past.

 DEVILOOF to unleash highly anticipated new digital single! 

The Japanese heavy metal band is set to unveil their new track “Everything is all lies” 20th October, 2023!

 On their latest single, the band’s vocalist Keisuke, who grew frustrated with the proliferation of unreliable self-help books and information in the world, imparts a message to listeners: ‘Don’t succumb to influence and live with your own thoughts!’

The cover art for “Everything is all lies” was designed by illustrator Nottsuo, known for his work on the popular trading card game Duel Masters. The artwork features a creature inspired by Nyarlathotep, a maligned deity in the Cthulhu Mythos known for its adept manipulation of humans, guiding them toward destruction and chaos.

Perfectly linked to the worldview expressed by the illustration, the new single is poised to captivate audiences via DEVILOOF’s distinct sound. 

In addition, the band will be performing as the supporting act for Canadian technical death metal band Cryptopsy at their Tokyo Show, scheduled for 12 December at SHIBUYA STREAM HALL.

It is with great sadness we're hearing reports that X Japan's long time bass guitarist HEATH has passed away at the age of 55 from Cancer!

Heath died back in October 2023, but his death is only being announced now, November 7th, 2023.Our heart goes out to his family, friends and the Band.

NEMOPHILA celebrate the rock bands that influenced them on forthcoming EP The Initial Impulse on November 8. 

The covers set captures the fast-rising outfit nodding to the songs that shaped their sound, while also showcasing their own musical perspectives. Ahead of its release, NEMOPHILA have shared their adrenaline-racing take on Slipknot’s “(sic).”
