After a 10-year silence, Japanese hard rock & industrial band: MACHINE have made comeback in 2025! MACHINE Released a new music video for the track: "Mechanical Child"!

In 1999, HAKUEI (PENICILLIN) and Kiyoshi (hide with Spread Beaver) teamed up to form MACHINE.

On their website they said: ...in 2025, MACHINE will be fully restarted. Even as times change, the two's insatiable desire for music remains unwavering. Re:O is a Japanese / British Metal, Dark Pop band from Maidenhead, UK combining dark ambient electronic J-pop tones with high energy and blood pumping metal.

Re:O was founded in 2020 by singer and multi-instrumentalist Rio Suyama in Tokyo, Japan. She composed, produced and released '嘆きのシルエット (Sorrow's Silhouette)' in 2020 and 'GUILD' in 2021. GUILD, Stains On My Soul, Ronin and The Haunted has been played internationally on radio stations including BBC radio 1 Future Alternative and and BBC Introducing Oxfordshire.

Re:O reformed in 2023 with Bassist James Wright and Drummer James 'J' Stevens joining Re:O to bring mesmerizing live performances and co-write a new era for Re:O. The release of 'Stains On My Soul', 'Ronin' and 'The Haunted' in 2024 solidified Re:O in the Metal Genre which was seen critical acclaim from Re:O fans, Bloggers and online magazines being described by fans as 'Japancore' a mix of industrial metal, Dark Pop, J-Pop and Metalcore.

About the song Violets

Violets is the 8th single released by Re:O. Violets explores the depths of grief by combining Re:O’s signature blend of metal riffs with sombre and harrowing melodies that captivate grief and pain with mesmerizing vocals, haunting piano melodies and synthonic instrumentation. This will immediately draw in any fan of Alternative Metal, Industrial Metal, Metalcore, Goth, J-Pop, Dark Pop, Nu-Metal, Post Hardcore and Rock. 

Violets describes the death of someone extremely close and important to you and how the grief has overwhelmed you with the loss of the one person who supported you, was there for you and who you loved dearly. The story continues by plunging into denial and how you refuse to accept this has happened and questioning how you can continue onwards.

Everything you knew has now been lost and now you must stumble and find your way in this new and hostile emotional landscape. This emotional journey is captivated by using the imagery of the flower Violets, utilising these as a metaphor for loss, fear and growth. The music tells this story by utilising beautiful and powerful vocal melodies contrasted by unsettling symphonic instrumentation, haunting piano melodies and intense guitar riffs to emulate the anger and denial portrayed by the lyrics. All of this contributes to Violets being the perfect tribute to the loss of that one loved and dearly missed person.

Japanese Prog/Pop Rock sensation KOIAI will be playing their first ever European shows in France and Germany at the end of June, the start of July in 2025. The tour is presented by Riot-Rock Booking.

KOIAI are Kanade on Drums, Li-sa-X on Guitar and Hazuki (of NEMOPHILA) on Guitar. Support vocalist for the EU tour will come from Nene (WHIMSY). This is due to original KOIAI Vocalist Kotono withdrawing from the band while recovering from medical treatment due to throat issues. Bass support will be from Wakazaemon (Marty Friedman).

Japanese Steampunk Metal Band FATE GEAR released a live music video of "Force Of The Holy" featuring guest Vocalist: Hashimura Hime, along with Unlucky Morpheus Violinist Jill, and guest  Bassist Erika.

The footage was taken from their performance at ELECTRONIC EMPIRE FEST. in 2025 held at the Kawasaki CLUB CITTA'. The video has already accumulated over 10,000 views on YouTube! Showing the increasing popularity of the band, especially to a more Western audience.

Japanese metal band: HIKAGE released their 8th single "CALLING" on 2025.04.02 to streaming platforms, along with a music video release to YouTube!

The track was Recorded / Mixed: Junya Nakabayashi and Mastered: Seigo Itoh. The video was Directed by Kotarou Nogamiat Grafica.film

For those that don't know, HIKAGE formed in Sapporo in May of 2019. The band say their music "is diverse, incorporating various elements without being limited to the concepts based on metalcore or hardcore".

It's been almost a year since the release of the fantastic album "Dance Cult" from the amazing multi-talented Japanese music artist RIS through her solo project RIS-707!

BRIDEAR have cancelled their upcoming EU and UK tour! On a statement on the bands social media they said:

"Dear BRIDEAR fans in the EU and UK.

We regret to inform you that the Into the World Forever Tour-EUROPE/UK 2025 has been cancelled.

Unfortunately, the tour which was planned to start from the 19th of March in Paris, France until the 12th of April finishing up in London, England has been officially cancelled.

This hard decision has been made due to Vocal KIMI’s health condition especially with her throat, which requires a substantial time for treatment which has been estimated until early April.

To all the BRIDEAR fans, please accept our deepest apologies for this decision and looking forward to seeing you on the next tour."

KIMI also posted on her account:

"I am truly sorry to tell you this, but unfortunately because of my throat condition, I have to announce the cancellation of our EU tour. 

To be honest, I can’t help but feel extremely disappointed that I have let you all down because I know everyone has been really looking forward to this tour. I truly feel that I have let the band down as well because they have been working so hard to rehearse and get ready for the tour.

Thank you in advance for your understanding, and for letting me take this time to fully recuperate.

Can’t wait to see you all when I am feeling 100% perfect. I promise you, it will be worth it!"

Fans have in general been very supportive of KIMI and the band's decision,with fans saying they're looking forward to rescheduled shows whenever they maybe.

Japanese deathcore powerhouse DEVILOOF has unveiled its highly anticipated digital single and music video for "Inshu" today! 

This release features acclaimed actor Tadanobu Asano, celebrated for his role in the drama Shogun, where he made history as the first Japanese actor to ever win the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in this year's award ceremony.

Matenrou Opera, the legendary visual kei metal band representing Japan's music prowess, released their new album "MUTSU NO HANA-" on 18 December, 2024!

Produced by Live Nation, the 24-date run kicks off on Wednesday, March 5 in Montreal, QC at MTELUS, with additional stops in Toronto, Chicago, Boston, Orlando, Nashville, Austin, Anaheim, Portland and more before wrapping up on Saturday, April 12 in Sacramento, CA at Ace of Spades. Special guest Kaonashi will join as support on all dates and Crystal Lake will join on select shows.

The co-headline tour comes on the heels of successful headline tours from both artists that took place earlier this year.

On December 4th, HANABIE. released their EP Bucchigiri Tokyo and official music video for their latest track "Ito Okashi My Type.” The band has previously dropped "OTAKU Lovely Densetsu" and their most recent banger, "Metamorphose!", which together have amassed nearly 3 million views on YouTube and over 2.8 million streams on Spotify alone. 

2024 saw Kim Dracula join the concept album for Lin Manuel Miranda & Eisa Davis’ new musical, Warriors. The album is part musical tribute/part audio play and is adapted from 1979 cult-favorite film ‘The Warriors.’ Kim Dracula plays Luther, a villain, and appears alongside Nas, Busta Rhymes, Ms. Lauryn Hill and more. More music is on the way from Kim Dracula in 2025!

Japanese Musician, Artist, phenomenal 5-string Bass player, and Singer-Songwriter KIYOSHI released the official music video for the song: “Ta Ta Ta Ra Ta” December 7th (JST), from their fantastic new album "7" which was released, November 30th, 2024!

About “Ta Ta Ta Ra Ta” Kiyoshi said in a social media post:  “This song is a present /letter to those who have been waiting for me.  I wrote with the feeling of supporting everyone who supported me back...”

ONE OK ROCK have announced their upcoming Latin American Tour in 2025. 

The tour is starting in Mexico on April 4th at the Tecate Pa’l Norte festival in Monterrey, with a heading show April 5th at the Pepsi Center Mexico City. The band then head to South America for dates in Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Peru. 

Current details are that Pre-sale tickets will be available from Wednesday, December 4th, at 10am local, and with general on sales starting on Friday, December 6th, at 9am ET!

Japanese Visual-kei rock band: RIDES IN REVELLION released their new single 'Shooting the MOON" along with the accompanying music video on November 19, 2024!

After 10 years together, the band announced earlier in the year on their website that Rides In ReVellion will be disbanding in March of 2025!

This news came suddenly to fans of the band and apparently out of nowhere - but in a statement they revealed how and why they have come to this decision.

The band said: “after having numerous meetings they have come to the conclusion that there is a large gap between how each member envisions the future, and that it would be extremely difficult to bridge this gap, so we have decided to disband.”

Japanese rock legends BUCK-TICK released their new single 'Raijin Fujin - Resonance" on November 20th, 2024! 

With the band's 24th original new album "SUBROSA" scheduled for release on December 4th 2024!

This is the first new single and album from the remaining members of the band since the untimely passing of vocalist Atsushi Sakurai in 2023. Hisashi Imai (Guitar) and Hidehiko Hoshino (Guitar/keyboards) are both now sharing lead vocal duties.

We can’t wait to hear what the new band's sound will be - but they are currently describing themselves as “True melodic heavy metal band from Japan”! I guess watch this space!

Three-piece Japanese Industrial Rock band: NUL. released their 3rd full-length album "AVA". digitally on October 17th, and on CD October 25th, 2024!

NUL. are ex-D’espairsRay vocalist HIZUMI, programmer and producer Toshiyuki Kishi (abingdon boys school, etc.) and guitarist MASATO (defspiral), formed the new band in March of 2019!

With AVA, the three bandmates have toned down the industrial aspects of their sound in favor of its rock and metal features, creating a hard-hitting release that reflects the theme of aggression and destruction. This album is a testament to NUL.’s evolution and growth, a journey that the audience has been a part of.

HIZUMI said: "Five years have passed since our formation, and I believe that the creation of the record AVA has further expanded our potential. Please look forward to the continued evolution of NUL."

Independent Japanese electronic rock/metal band Esprit D'Air released 2 new albums! 'Live in Barcelona' and 'Seasons'!! Both were released November 8, 2024!

Esprit D'Air said about the new albums:

'Seasons', contains classic covers that inspired the band, reworks and remixes of tracks. Kai said the album represents an era of Esprit D'Air between 2010-2013. New single "Aire," was also originally written in 2011!

'Live in Barcelona' is a live album recorded during Esprit D'Air sold-out European tour while performing some of the band's most beloved tracks.

*Esprit D'Air is the solo project led by vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, Kai.

Japanese girls rock band TRiDENT released their 2nd full album “DUX”, on November 6th, 2024! 

The album is largely made up of the bands previous single releases - but it’s great to finally have these all in one place.

The band also released at the same time the album dropped, a music video for the song “-Haha!”. TRiDENT have credited a number of musicians for the song including music & lyrics by ASAKA, arranged by 堀江晶太 @kemu8888 (X) and 三代 @sandai324 (X) 三代/324/みつよ

lynch. vocalist Hazuki released their new album “MAKE UP ØVERKILL” through their solo project, October 23rd, 2024!

“MAKE UP ØVERKILL” has 12 fantastic songs, including the popular singles "Tokyo Psyche" and "Moonlight Slave" among the tracks, and is a great album!! Unfortunately, the release didn’t go so smoothly, with a number of issues reported.

An apology was issued soon after the release on Hazuki website to fans who’d purchased the album by downloading the tracks. An incorrect audio source of the album was being distributed on various music distribution services - but the problem was quickly corrected. 

Although there were no audio issues with physical CDs, there was an error in the lyrics of the booklet. A new version was being offered as a replacement.

In a statement on the bands website and posted across their Social Media:

"Important Notice: 2024/09/15 (Sun)

Thank you for your continued support of DEVILOOF.

As of August 31st, AiSaku has left the band.

We are very sorry for this sudden announcement to all the fans who support DEVILOOF and all those involved.

The reason for this decision is differences in the direction we should take and differences in how we think about the band.

Although each of them will be walking different paths, we ask for your continued support for AiSaku and DEVILOOF in the future.

Regarding the future structure of DEVILOOF, we will continue as a four-person group."
